Welcome Reception

On August 29, starting at 6:00 pm, we kindly invite you to our welcome reception. The admission is included in the registration.

Senate Reception

On August 30, starting at 7:00 pm, the Senate of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg invites to a reception on the occasion of the annual conference of the Society for Operations Research in Germany (GOR e.V.). Katharina Fegebank, Second Mayor of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg and Senator in the Office for Science, Research, Equal Opportunities and Districts will open this event. The address is Kühne Logistics University, Großer Grasbrook 17, 20457 Hamburg. The venue will be open from 6:30 pm. The admission is included in the registration, but you have to make a reservation when you register for the conference because the number of places is limited.

Conference Dinner

On August 31, starting at 8:00 pm, we welcome you to the conference dinner in the Grand Élysée, and we were able to extend the capacity for the conference dinner. The dinner takes place in the impressive “Grand Ballroom” of the Grand Élysée. As such, if you were unable to book a seat during registration: it is now open again. Dinner will include a “Hamburger Buffet” and four hours of free drinks ranging from Soft Drinks, Coffees, Wine & Beers. The address is Rothenbaumchaussee 10, 20148 Hamburg. The admission will be open from 7:30 pm. The venue is accessible by public transport and can be easily reached by foot from the other conference venues.
As the price is not included in the registration, participants are kindly asked to present their tickets, which will be handed out at the Welcome Desk.

Company Visits

Gebr. Heinemann DC (Thursday, August 31, 2023, from 9.30 – 13.00)

Visit the distribution center and meet the supply chain team of travel retailer Gebr. Heinemann in Hamburg-Allermöhe. The company offers state-of-the-art technology and enables direct secure delivery into duty-free stores at airports and cruise ships. The bus to the company visit leaves and returns at University of Hamburg. Places are limited, and a registration is required under the following link.

Aurubis AG (Thursday, August 31, 2023, from 13.30 – 17.00)

Visit the largest site of Aurubis, a global supplier of non-ferrous metals and one of the world's largest copper recyclers. See the production of copper cathodes, wire, and specialty materials in one of the most environmentally friendly copper smelters in the world. The bus to the company visit leaves and returns at University of Hamburg. Places are limited, and a registration is required under the following link.

Port of Hamburg

For Wednesday, August 30, 2023, from 15:30 - 18:30 we have organized a harbor tour. During the boat ride, learn all about the port from an experienced guide who will describe former and current activities in the port as well share insights on vessels you will encounter. The barge will be back in time for the Senate Welcome at Kühne Logistics University. The barge leaves and returns to the terminal Elbphilharmonie.Places are limited, and a registration is required under the following link.

Lunch

Lunch on Wednesday and Thursday is included in the registration and will be served in one of our universities canteens nearby the other conference venues. We offer a variety of dishes, including vegetarian and vegan options. Moreover, we offer a lunch box on Friday after the closing ceremony from 2:00 pm for your return home. The lunch coupons will be given out at the welcome desk.
